A good handbook for authors seeking reviews !

‘I bought this book because I wanted to know what the author can tell me about reviews that I don’t already know after getting about fifty reviews for my two books across different platforms. I found that I was missing on a very important method. I had never sent an email to amazon top reviewers for requesting them to review my books. After reading this book, I realized my mistake and will endeavor my best to rectify it. Though finding the right reviewers and contacting them is not a cakewalk and you will not start getting reviews immediately after reading this book, but it can guide you and may prove helpful if you also have been making some mistake like me. If you are an author and want a concise knowledge of getting reviews, this book can help you. It will tell you what you should do and what not in an organized manner.’

A vital tool for every author

As an indie author I know that I need reviews to make my books more visible. I know that I need to ask Amazon reviewers to review my books. What I didn't know was the manner in which I should ask, nor had I thought of the many other strategies presented in this book.
Naked Truths About Getting Book Reviews is a short book but it is packed full of information. The author, Gisela Hausmann, has a clear and succinct style of writing. Much like the review requests we should be writing she makes every word count. The is no superfluous language here. This book is set out in a logical, almost mathematical manner, with each step to be taken clearly described. There are examples of good and bad approaches to show exactly what she means and explanations given as to why some approaches are more effective than others.
As a top Amazon reviewer Gisela knows what she is talking about, and we as authors are privileged to get such useful advice so cheaply and so well presented. This book is a must buy for every indie author about to begin the daunting task of self promotion.

Review of NAKED TRUTHS About Getting Book Reviews by Gisela Hausmann

Every time I read a book that explicitly or implicitly suggests a how-to quick fix, I am in a state of mild excitement. I begin to expect suggestions that will help me work miracles. It seems to be a habit I can’t cure myself of.
Gisela’s Hausmann’s Naked Truths about Getting Book Reviews did not quite give me tips on working miracles, but did impart a lot of common sense on how to adopt a sensible strategy to get reviews for your book and on how to deal with them—good or bad—when you do get them.
What I liked in particular are her suggestions for getting readers to submit reviews and for approaching other potential reviewers, including top-ranked reviewers, without rubbing them the wrong way. Hausmann has sensible suggestions for how to spot and avoid fake and “orchestrated” reviews.
She has some unexpected insights to throw on low-ranked (one star, two starts) reviews and how they can actually benefit the author.
I highlighted her suggestions on how best to incorporate the book reviews you receive into your blog. I will be going back to them in due course.
As someone who is hoping to gets tons of glowing reviews one day for my own publications, I finished Hausmann’s book wiser than when I started it. I only wish she had concentrated a little on answering the questions (may be a survey to get these questions?) of fiction writers; she primarily appears to be a non-fiction writer herself, and her book, without being blatant, is focused more on that category of author.
