About the Author

Marcel Daane is a pioneer in integrating health and neuroscience to improve performance in executives, with more than twenty years of coaching experience.

He holds an undergraduate degree in complementary medicine from Charles Sturt University and a postgraduate degree in the neuroscience of leadership from Middlesex University, along with advanced certifications in fitness and performance coaching.

When it comes to determination, focus, and commitment, he learned from the best. His mother was exiled by South Africa but ultimately honored for her courageous stand against apartheid. His own life journey has taken him from military service in naval intelligence, to coaching Olympic and professional athletes, and on to executive and leadership coaching.

Daane’s integrated approach to enhanced executive performance has transformed the lives of thousands of business leaders, subsequently helping to improve the performance of numerous multinational organizations across a wide variety of industries.

This book has boosted my performance, attention and creativity

What a great read for executives, professionals, athletes, employees and anyone who wants to perform better in any area of life. This book includes the perfect combination of in-depth scientific data about how the brain works and how it responds to exercise, food and stress -- combined with practical strategies to boost performance, creativity, sustained attention, health and resilience against stress. I have already put the concepts into practice, and they have made a positive difference in my life. Marcel Daane has written this book in a clear, understandable style that will resonate with individuals or work teams -- anyone who is ready to learn the simple keys to a stronger performance in work and life. Highly recommended!

In today’s world with all the stressors that life has to offer, so many of us keep taking on more responsibility without having a solid way to cope with the additional stress. Life is about burning UP, and not burning OUT.

Mastery is all about making complex things simple. This is exactly what the author of ‘Headstrong Performance’, has done by taking the complexity of neuroscience, nutrition and exercise physiology and putting it into simple terms with great case study’s that are easy to understand.

I can’t recommend this book enough!!!!

Choose to take charge of your life and health and perfromance

Marcel shares stories and Neuroscience about your exercise and nutrition without being "preachy". Good examples of real people and their issues with a simple solution that worked for each of them in the four areas covered. Includes easy to follow (and do) exercises and simple food advice to reduce stress and anxiety, improve performance and creativity and attention.
Be careful though. You are very likely to lose weight, get fit and improve your performance after reading this.
