Make better decisions

This book is about teaching or helping how to make more calculated decisions, which would be most helpful when you're in a company or in business. It doesn't discount the power of intuition but there will just be times that it would be better for us to make decisions based on facts and evidences. This guides us through striking a balance in between. It's also well written and easy to understand. Good read.

Good information! Easy read! A lot of typos! This book had a lot of good information and I will take this and apply it when I start busking the streets of Columbus, OH. Great book!

I've been interested in stock market for some time, and I really could not understand those complicated words and numbers when I tried to invest my money on my own. Due to that, I decided to firstly read some books related to it and I stumbled across this book. It is excellent and really useful. It has plenty tips and offers good advice for money investing. I like the structure of the book and the writing style because it is completely focused on beginners. Excellent!

At present there are so many options and ways to attract money and get higher profits - the market is just full of such opportunities but even for me some are just so unknown and even sound risky.

I am always looking for ways to grow my money without high risk. I have been afraid of the stock market since i lost 90% of my investments back in the 90's. I decided that I had simply made bad choices and wanted to get started again. I grabbed this beginners book and consumed the information from cover to cover. I love the analogy about riding out the lows, something that would have saved me 1000's a decade ago. I have been following the simple steps in the book and plan to ride this one out long-term.

An old co-worker of mine, who sold Internet advertising, once quipped that he wished he sold chairs, since everybody knew what a chair was; all they had to decide on was if they liked it or not. Service-oriented businesses are different in that value is not observed through a physical product. It is difficult to cold call somebody about your consulting service, and advertising early on is like throwing darts. Networking becomes a primary tool; after all, there's a reason why a first round of funding is called a Friends and Family round. Often your first business transactions are from pre-existing relationships.

Ellwood sets out to explain the finer points of networking, and hits on the key point of building trusting relationships, and providing reciprocal value. Decades worth of experience has resulted in this handy little book, which delivers on the keys to networking, and building successful relationships, helping you expand your "friends" network to far greater measures than just a collection of contacts on LinkedIn.

What's especially refreshing is that Ellwood isn't afraid to shy away from observations like: people with problems not only have a problem to be solved, but also a secondary problem with not wanting to spend the necessary money to solve the problem. It's honest insights like this that provide greater value in Ellwood's words, and this book is a treasure for people running small businesses.

Because networking is both an art and a science, you need to read and understand many perspectives on the subject and Taylor provides ideas from his point of view that you can put into practice immediately and that I believe will help you be more successful. And, as I have known Taylor for a number of years, I can tell you that he doesn't just write about the theory of networking - he gets out there and does it. He is often one of the most active members of his leads groups and he definitely focuses on how he can help his fellow members in his daily activities.
