Accessible and useful social organizing tools updated for the 21st century provided by Howard Richards and Gavin Andersson

I was delighted to read Gavin Andersson’s and Howard Richards’s new book.
With this new, delightful, down to earth guide we can see the operationalization of their theories and the social experiments they nurtured.
The writing style is meant to be accessible to most all potential readers. The authors avoid jargon and other frightening mistakes.
Practical field exercises abound.
Anecdotes are scattered through the book that will make the reader smile. These anecdotes serve to show that just about anyone can be involved in an organization who believes in helping her or his neighbors and actually doing it.
And as for me, the works of Prof. Richards and Prof. Andersson have enriched my understanding of how much alike we all are as human beings. I have been reading them for 15 years.
And how much we are all alike in needing shelter, food, community, and education to thrive! Our needs are not outlandish. Just let us keep the money we have earned and saved over all our years of hard work. Don't let banks and defense industries dictate national financial policy. Do not allow banks to steal our homes from us while banks churned trillions of dollars, thereby manipulating the global housing market. Do not allow them to make another bubble, then yet another horrifying crash.
The guiding principle of a society should be Do No Harm, no?
Here, we have a manual to create all of those things for ourselves and our loved one by cooperation rather than phony competitions.

This book is clear, readable and edifying. I noticed that issues that are often opaque are clarified using interdisciplinary knowledge to demystify the issues. Don't miss this one it is the joy of illuminating issues that need to be put in focus. This is a must read.

This little guidebook will be an excellent read for you if you are interested in any of the following: community organizing, building a healthier sustainable human society, democratic social movements, popular education, and/or applying principles of social change theory. Think of this as a very practical "how-to" manual for a successful workshop model that is well-grounded in a philosophy of social change.
